Co-founder and Designer of the luxury brand prêt-à-porter DARIN HACHEM.
Born and raised in Mexico. She started her studies in 2010 in Fashion Design in her homeland Puebla at Trozmer Universidad de Diseño. Growing up in Mexico contributed to her passion for artisanal processes of hand loom weaving, as well as a cultural interest on traditional fabrics and the natural processes of dyeing. She moved to Milan in 2013, studying Fashion Design One Year Intensive Womenswear at Istituto Marangoni. At the same time she collaborated with menswear brand JONATHAN SCARPARI.
In 2015 she won a scholarship for the Womenswear Fashion Design Masters Degree at Istituto Marangoni where she graduated. In 2016, she worked at MOSCHINO as assistant studio for the menswear first line and after continued a collaboration with the brand’s Creative and Visual Communication Department. In the same year she co-founded the luxury prêt-à-porter womenswear brand DARIN HACHEM. The brand represents a multicultural Middle Eastern statement with traits and shapes of both Lebanon and Mexico with a conscious approach.
Her work has been featured in popular magazines including Elle Arabia, Vogue, Marie Claire Arabia, Harpers Bazaar Arabia, and Vulkan, as well as it has dressed important Arab influencers such as HM Queen Rania, Layla Kardan, Nour Arida, and Lana El Sahely, just to name a few.
Her interest in both menswear and womenswear lines and details forged her flexibility introducing male silhouettes into the women’s garments. Her knowledge of Mexican traditional natural processes motivates her to focus on ecological and sustainable manufacture in modern fashion systems.
